What Forever adds
New race
The one new playable race in Forever, and the only race that picks its own side. Faction choice changes both a class option and a racial, so it is a real decision rather than a cosmetic one.
Classes
Six of the nine classes, then. No Paladin, Priest or Warlock.
Racials
| Racial | What it does | Available to |
|---|---|---|
| Elemental Insight | Damage dealt versus Elementals increased by 5%. | Both factions |
| Read Ley Line | Attempt to tap into the power of a nearby ley line, increasing your Health and Mana regeneration by 100%. Lasts 15 sec if no ley line is nearby, and 15 min if one is found.2 min cooldown | Alliance only |
| Skysight | Attempt to draw power from a convergence of elements and receive its blessing, increasing your movement and mounted movement speeds by 10%. Lasts 30 sec if no elemental convergence is nearby, and 15 min if one is found.2 min cooldown | Horde only |
| Walk on Air | Glide downward through the air for 10 sec while controlling your direction of travel.2 min cooldown | Both factions |
| Wind Blessed | Increases your spellcasting, melee, and ranged Haste by 1%. | Both factions |

Three shared, one per faction, read from the Forever client alongside every other race's. All nine races' racials.
Druid forms
Skyborne Druids get shapeshift forms built for the race rather than reskins:
-
Bear -
Cat -
Travel -
Moonkin
Starting zone
Skyborne characters level 1–12 on Zephras Isle, a floating island, before joining the rest of Azeroth.
How to unlock
The race is tied to the edition you buy, not to the base subscription:
| Edition | USD | Beta |
|---|---|---|
| Skyborne Heroic Pack | $29.99 | No |
| Skyborne Epic Pack | $59.99 | Included |
| Warcraft Forever Collection | $79.99 | Included |
| WoW Forever Collector's Edition | $150.00 | No |
A standard subscription alone does not unlock Skyborne or the Zephras Isle starting experience.
New race and class combinations
6 combinations that were not possible in Classic. Each one is a deliberate break with a rule that held for twenty years.
| Combination | Faction | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Dwarf Shaman | | Breaks the Horde-only Shaman rule that stood since Vanilla. |
| Human Hunter | | Humans get a ranged physical class for the first time. |
| Undead Paladin | | The most lore-disruptive of them, by some distance. |
| Gnome Priest | | Gnomes gain a healing class. |
| Orc Mage | | Orcs gain an arcane caster. |
| Troll Warlock | | The third Horde race able to roll Warlock, after Orc and Undead. |
The Skyborne add more on top of these. They are a full race rather than a combination, so they have a section of their own.

Professions
All 12 are reworked: 9 primary and 3 secondary. Every one gains a passive bonus, three campsite objects (36 in all) and a share of the 600+ new recipes. It is the first time in Classic that your profession choice matters at low level.
Tier 1 campsite recipes are learned at skill 20 from camping NPCs or profession trainers. Higher tiers drop from specific dungeon bosses.

PvP ranks
All fourteen rank names are vanilla's, unchanged. What sits under them is not: the weekly standing formula is gone, and rank is a track you buy with Rank Points. 5 of the fourteen also pay a Legacy Point.
Two purses
Honor and rank are no longer the same number.
Honor Points
Honor is gained by killing members of the opposite faction in PvP combat. You can use honor points to purchase special items.

The unlock is the client's own wording and carries no item id. Forever's own sets sit at ranks 10 and 13; the pieces the client still lists at other ranks are Classic's old gates and no longer match what the rank actually unlocks.
Azeroth in a new light
Blizzard's own summary calls out new lighting and global illumination, volumetric fog and god rays, water that flows and catches the light, and terrain that casts real shadows. These are their screenshots of the same zones you already know.
Water, reworked:
At a glance
- Launches
- 4 November 2026
- Beta from
- 17 September 2026
- Costs
- Nothing extra. An active subscription or game time covers it
- Level cap
- 60
- New quests
- Over 1,000
5 zones, 9 dungeons, 2 raids, one battleground, one new race and 6 race and class combinations. All of it announced publicly. Where Blizzard have not stated a number this page leaves it out rather than guessing, so some rows are shorter than you might want.
Lifted from Blizzard's own press fact sheet, not from coverage of it. The game itself costs nothing beyond a subscription; beta access is the exception. Blizzard name the Skyborne Edition and the Warcraft Forever collection as granting it. Their fact sheet lists no prices and does not say whether other editions do too, so this page does not either.
